Our Mission:
Pittsville Area Community Theater is a nonprofit organization formed in 2003. PACT’s continuing goal is to promote a summer production that offers area community members the opportunity to participate in live theater, thereby giving youth and adults an outlet for creative expression. PACT strives to promote the arts and provide high-quality entertainment in Central Wisconsin.
Our Vision:
Those involved in PACT believe that through the collaborative efforts of many dedicated volunteers, both on and off the stage, our community is strengthened and our quality of life is enriched.
PACT members believe that theater and the arts are an important part of our community and make it a goal to educate its members. PACT has conducted past theater workshops that focused on acting and technical theater production.
The group also recognizes students who have made a contribution to the local arts by offering a scholarship to a graduating senior from the Pittsville area who has been involved in drama.
Since its beginning, PACT has seen growth and positive recognition throughout Central Wisconsin. We are open to new ideas and welcome any suggestions that you may have. Our main focus is the summer production, but we are always trying to offer other opportunities, as well.
Who makes up PACT?
PACT exists because of the time and dedication of many volunteers throughout Central Wisconsin, as well as the generous financial support of foundations, businesses and individuals. Volunteer opportunities in PACT are plentiful! Opportunities include on-stage roles, as well as behind the scenes participation. We are happy to accommodate your interests and schedule. Members work hard, have fun, and gain the experience and satisfaction of a job well done. No experience is necessary! There are opportunities for everyone to become involved!
PACT is guided by a board of directors who meet monthly to conduct business and plan upcoming events. Although subject to change, meetings are generally held the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30 at the Pittsville HIgh School library. The public is welcome to attend.
Where are Performances Held?
Pittsville Area Community Theater is pleased to have a collaborative relationship with the School District of Pittsville and privileged to hold its rehearsals and performances in the Pittsville Schools Auditorium, adjacent to the Elementary School on Engelman Ave. The facility was constructed by the Pittsville School District in 1999 for the purpose of providing the school and community with a “state-of-the-art” performance facility. The proscenium stage auditorium seats 490 people and includes back stage dressing rooms, scenery, prop and costume areas, and a first-rate lighting and sound system.
PACT strives to bring a variety of performances to the stage, suitable for a wide range of audiences. PACT's inaugural production was "Steel Magnolias" in 2003. The second production was "Arsenic and Old Lace," in 2004, followed by "Rumors" in 2005, "The Curious Savage" in 2006, and "Love is Contagious" in 2008.
